Grade 7 at Our Lady of Mercy is the final chapter in your child’s elementary school journey. This is a pivotal year for our students as they become the leaders of our school and prepare themselves to enter high school. As a staff we are excited to embark on this year of growth, self discovery and academic rigor with them.
Our staff understands the importance of guiding our students, not only academically, but also spiritually and morally. The Grade 7 curriculum is carefully designed to empower students to become confident, responsible and independent learners. When designing the curriculum our school adapted a middle school model of teaching. Each teacher is passionate about their subject and exposes the students to different styles of teaching and learning. As this year students receive the sacrament of confirmation, we focus on growing their understanding and deepening their faith. At the heart of the Grade 7 program is the integration of Catholic Social teachings into all curriculum.
As a partner in your child’s education, we aim to create a fuller picture of their growth and development of their learning. We encourage parents to comment and look through their child’s work through Seesaw and google classroom. Together, we can create a supportive community that reinforces the values of respect, empathy, and service.
