Newsletter – 2023 October 26

If we want life, let us give life. If we want opportunities, let us provide opportunities.

– Pope Francis

Hello OLM families! We are headed into the last few days of October, and things are definitely getting spoooky around here! Read on for more information about Halloween at OLM, Digital Citizenship Week, and more!

Halloween:
Our Grade 7 class has been hard at work preparing for our annual Halloween Fair. They have put together a fun experience for the other students in our OLM community. Each class will have an opportunity to visit the fair during the school day and enjoy the festivities. There will also be a special assembly in the morning where all students have the opportunity to parade with their class and show off their costumes.

We are kindly asking students not to bring treats or goodie bags for their class, whether edible or not.  Students will each be receiving a goodie bag at the Halloween Fair.

For more information about costume guidelines for school, please see the Oct. 17th newsletter

Digital Citizenship Week
Digital Citizenship Week is well underway here at OLM, and classes have sparked some excellent discussions about navigating life online! We have attached the overview slides to this newsletter so that families can have a look at them together at home! Teachers will also be sending a copy of their Grade’s individual slides for the week through Seesaw.

Parking Lot Safety
Please keep in mind the layout for flow of traffic, and appropriate  drop-off zone to ensure the safety of both our students and other drivers. Polite, respectful parking lot etiquette is also very important in setting an example of respectful, responsible, and safe behaviour for our little ones.

OLM Volleyball Tournament
The OLM Volleyball Tournament was a great success! Fun was had by all, and both of our teams played very well! A big thank you to the staff, students and all of our volunteers for their hard work!
