November 6, 2020 Newsletter

Kindness frees us from the cruelty that at times infects human relationships, from the anxiety that prevents us from thinking of others, from the frantic flurry of activity that forgets that others also have a right to be happy.

“Jesus challenges us to put aside all differences and, in the face of suffering, to draw near to others with no questions asked.”

– Pope Francis

“Amid so many passing things, the Lord wants to remind us of what will remain forever: love, because God is Love”.
-Pope Francis

First and foremost, thank you for your support and for trusting my staff and me. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted so many of us in a variety of ways and the start of the 2020-21 school year will look differently because of it. We are genuinely excited to have students return to school and to bring some normalcy back into your child’s life. Our plans prioritize student learning, safely maximize instructional time while strictly adhering to the Health and Safety measures prescribed by the Provincial Health Office.

The following Question and Answer bulletin has been made available to provide some clarity on questions that you may sill have:

Mabel’s Labels Fundraising Campaign

Our Lady of Mercy School is fundraising with Mabel’s Labels!

If you’re not familiar with Mabel’s Labels, they are personalized, durable, waterproof labels. They are great for everything from shoes, clothing tags, water bottles and backpacks. You can customize them with your name and a design, and they are dishwasher, laundry and microwave safe.

Mabel’s Labels also offers clothing stamps, silicone bands for water bottles and face masks for both adult and children! This is a great way to ensure your items don’t end up in the lost & found or mixed up. To reduce the spread of germs, we highly recommend labeling but they are also useful for everyday life.

To support our school, please visit campaigns.mabelslabels.com and select Our Lady of Mercy School (Burnaby). You can pick out whatever labels or product you want, and it will ship for free directly to your house! Thank you for supporting your School!
